Accessibility Statement
Webecho designs is committed to making our website as accessible as possible to everyone, we have used the following techniques to help you enjoy our website:
Resizable text
All the text on our page uses relative sizes to allow you to make text bigger or smaller to suit your needs, there are different methods used by each browser to implement this feature, some are listed here:
- Firefox
- Holding Ctrl and pressing the + key or - key together will increase or decrease the text size, respectively.
- Internet Explorer
- Go to the View menu and find the Text Size item. This opens a submenu which has a series of preset sizes you can choose from. Select the font size you want to use and it will be applied to the page immediately. (This will not work on all websites.)
Access Keys [a]
These allow you to access the main links on each page using just the keyboard by holding Alt and pressing [access key], please visit our full list of access keys for instructions.
Skip links
Skip links are most useful for screen readers, text browsers and mobile internet devices. These are not visible in a standard browser but are available to use.
Skip to Navigation [n] : Takes you to the first link in our navigation menu
Skip to Content [c] : Takes you straight to the top of the content
We also include an access keys link here for your convenience
Alt text for images
Alternative text has been provided for all 'necessary' images to enable screen reader or text browser users to understand the images. Images used purely for decoration do not have Alt texts.
Cascading Style Sheets (CSS)
Our website is designed using Cascading Style Sheets which separate the style from the structure, this speeds up the 'presentation' of each page by reducing the amount of code your browser needs to download.
Javascript
Although Javascript is present in the page, it is solely for analysis purposes and isn't used for visitor interaction.
Page Layout
Our website has been designed to be viewed in all browser sizes, although not a fluid layout, it can be viewed as low as 800 x 600 resolution without horizontal scrollbars.
We intend to include Style Sheets to make it compatible with smaller screen sizes such as mobile devices (phones, PDA's etc.) shortly.
Printing
We will shortly be adding provide print style sheets designed to allow our pages to be printed in Black & White with no unnecessary images to save you time, paper and ink.
We have organised the print styles so that any links will expand to show you where the link was pointing as well as expanding the definition of any Acronyms (doesn't work in Internet Explorer I'm afraid) - we hope you find this useful.
Accessibility Problems
We have tried hard to make sure that no area's of our website are inaccessible, however, should you find a part of our website difficult to use or unavailable, please contact us and we will fix it.
